rain understandable - ticketholder experience not
We have had very pleasant experiences despite several deluges during rainy pga championship events. Even without rain, the whole setup for A Taste of Jazz was awful. Having the main parking lot over half an hour from the event is a deal killer. Unacceptable is to then force everyone to that distant location on Monday - including those who paid for upgraded parking and extending to Uber and private car drop-offs. That, combined with the complete lack of concessions on the course and the pathetic offer of 30% in a merchandise tent that was obviously overstocked due to the rainy conditions, doesn't give you any reason to want to return for any event. Spotty and last minute updates on the rain delays were extremely difficult for those traveling from neighboring states. We assume the communications and logistics problems and lack of customer service falls squarely on the pga. But think Aronomink can learn some valuable lessons about what not to do and find a solution to the parking nightmare should they host another large event.
